Lace sensor vs hot rails.

Re: Lace sensor vs hot rails.

Thanks for the reply everyone, I traded some pickups I wasn't using on a lace sensor red so I will be trying that out in my strat, but I will keep cool rails in mind if I end up not enjoying the red.

Re: Lace sensor vs hot rails.

Does anyone have any experience with the lace sensor red? How does it compare with hot rails?

I don't think they compare much at all.

The hot rails bridge is a bit like the DD, the hot rails neck/middle are more PAF class. There is plenty of life/character in there.

The lace sensors are much more clinical. And IIRC the bridge pickup is much less pronounced than in the hot rails set.

The cool rails are nothing like the hot rails. Please do not assume that they must be a good compromise between hot and vintage.

Re: Lace sensor vs hot rails.

Yes, Hot Rails & Cool Rails are really opposite pickups...they aren't just different 'temperatures' of the same type of pickup. Really listen to (and read about) both of them before you decide so you know what you are getting.
