Laney gh50l vs gh100l???

Hello everyone. I have my mind set on getting a Laney after reading all the praise these amps get here. Aside from the gh100l being louder than the gh50l, are there any tonal differences between the two? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

100watt amps are not necessarily louder than 50 Watt amps. There is a difference but I have read in various places that it only ranges from 3-8 decibels. What you get witha 50watt head is more headroom, and so you can play with more gain at lower volumes whereas with a 100 watt amp you usually have to have the volume higher to get the same tone.

Both are great amps so if youre looking for a jamming amp get the 100, but if youre doing alot of quieter playing then the 50 may be best.
