Laney IronHeart Head...

Sooo...I Took a gamble and bought the Laney Ironheart IRT120 Head. I came yesterday and I've been messing around with it for about a solid day through a Ampeg cab. Now...I've used the Ampeg with a couple different heads and it can take anything an amp can dish out. Here are my concerns....

The IRT is a nice head, very loud but kind of "thin" sounding, doesnt really have that "oomph" I was expecting.
Very little changes happen when I adjust the EQ. The bass just doesnt seem to be there. And the boost option seems to make the signal cut out intermittently if I'm playing a speed solo, plus gets a little muddy.
Has a good amount of gain but more would be nice for sure. This is definitely more for rock....
Anyone else have experience with these amps? maybe any tips go along with any comments..?

I just expected waaay more for an amp thats "geared towards metal" :guilty:

It doesn't happen to have a pentode/triode switch flipped the wrong way anywhere does it? Just a random guess.

No, I'm afraid not. I spent another hour looking over the thing and trying to tweak it a little more....no luck. It's too bad...they made this amp to have all of these options like a luxury car, but each option only puts out the slightest changes
