Latest Project finished

One of my longtime jazz clients recently got the itch for a Tele.... a nice one. He ordered the parts (with my suggestions), and picked out a mahogany body with flame maple top from Renegade Guitarworks, a Mighty Mite neck, Fender Noiseless pickups, and some Gotoh hardware. I finished the body in clear lacquer. The neck had a nice amber finish from the factory. Here's how it looks after I assembled it and set it up. It's really heavy - like a dense Les Paul. It sounds great clean, or crunchy. Great single coil snap and sparkle from the bridge pickup, and a creamy mellow tone from the neck pickup. With both pickups on, it's superb for funk or pop rhythms. Pretty sure he will dig it.

Wasn't meant as an insult, guy. Check out the old Peavey Cropper models. Those were legit.

You said old, so I assumed you meant OLD - like the T-60 (that godawful fugly POS from Hartley's mind).

Re: Latest Project finished

I wanna see some more builds from scratch.

Agreed, but the money is in pleasing the client.

But that butterscotch pony is nice.

Thanks, I thought it was gorgeous. The owner is pretty pleased and plans to unleash it on an unsuspecting audience soon.

Barf.. That series must have spawned from Gibson's S-1, Marauder, And L-6..

No, the Peavey T-60 came after.... and Gibson's L-6 looked sharp. The S-1 and Marauder looked like cowflops.
