Latest Strat Build

Thought I'd share a pic of the strat that I just finished. I've been buying parts for a year now and finally got everything together a week ago.

I wanted to try out the SD Everything set. I found one that added a couple of toggle switches. One splits the coils and the other turns on the neck no matter where the 5 position switch is. The neck and bridge can be on at the same time.

Body was painted black over sunburst and some of the black was rubbed off to show the sunburst underneath.

I used an Allparts neck I got off Ebay from yscblues. The seller did some great work setting up the neck (frets, bone nut) and adding some subtle aging.

I used Callaham hardware, of course.

Looks tidy.

I would quickly become annoyed with the mini toggle switches in the positions where you have them.

May look like it in the picture but not really. I'm still playing around with the fine tuning. I did hold the string down at the last fret and measure 1/8 inch from the screw to the bottom of the string (low E). I set the middle and the neck height to get the same volume as the bridge. Seems to be working for me.

That looks really slick. I love relic'd guitars. Also, the Callaham hardware is really great. I used Callaham for every piece of hardware on my last strat build, except for pickups and pots. It may be expensive but I think it's the best.... and worth it.

Congrats and enjoy the new rig.
