Just ordered them from Bill&Becky. I ordered the 500L and 500XL. Now Im wondering if I messed up by thinking of putting the 500L in the neck. Should I use a 500K pot there to tame it a bunch? I also ordered a set of 500k pots should I just use those all the way around for tone as well? I believe my studio has 300k pots for volume and 250 for tone. Anyways I was hoping to hear your guys input on how set these things up. Or just trade off the 500L for something with less output? I do like alot of output from the neck too.....

Anybody got some input?

Oh and Whats up everyone! Been rather busy.

DANG! Having an L in the neck is like putting a JB in the neck. In your situation, I'd personally swap the bridge controls to 500k and the neck controls to 250k and dial them in from there.

If you like alot of output from the neck, the 500L will do you fine. Personally, I would use 500K pots all around but, that is me. I used to use 500K pots with a XL in the bridge and a C in the neck.

Either way you go bro, before pitching them to the curb, mess w/ them and give them a chance. Try all kinds of pots and caps. They're sensitive to height adjustments as well.

and if they're zebra w/ a black surround and you decide to sell you PM me immediately ! ;)

Alright...If the 500L is too hot I can always trade it for something with less output. Anyways they are Zebra Black/white with Chrome surrounds. I figure it will look bad ass in my black studio paul! Well I am changing them from an active 81/85 emg....so I think im gonna end up likeing them! I wan't my Les paul to have it's characteristics without losing it's tone. The EMGS are great though I do think they color the sound a bit. Besides how many les pauls have that set (EMGS) out there? Im betting a WHOLE LOT! I have always had great luck with the mom and pops of the world and im glad to support Bill and Becky lawrence.

I will do some research with Caps for the 500L in the neck with 500k volume pots. Matching these two are probably the most comparable to an 81/85.

You guys with me there? Im itching to get these may be a couple to three weeks off!
