So it seems that Duane Allman played a Princeton Reverb on "Layla" and even if it were a "Silverface", in 1970 it hadn't changed (much) from the Blackface P.R.
I've always heard that Eric Clapton played a Champ on that album - Blackface? Tweed? Sure tone is in the fingers/soul, but how did he get all that out of an 8" speaker?
Last question - looking at 1960's Fender schematics there are both 7025 and 12AX7 tubes specified. Current tube-sellers list these as identical tubes. What's the diff, if any?
