left handed guy with complete pickup newbie question

hi all, i'm getting back into guitar and decided to do so with and agile 3500 as i have read such good reviews about agile. since they don't have the left handed 3500 available with seymour duncan i have decided to have rondo music upgrade the pickups. yesterday i purchased from a local dealer the neck position jazz nichol plated duncan and the jb bridge both nickle plated. DOES IT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE THAT IM LEFT HANDED when putting these in the guitar? im asking because i read on this site yesterday (can't find where now) that certain duncan pickups need to come in lefty version. thank you for your help.

Makes no difference...Just wire the pickups like the diagram and have your neck screws facing towards the neck and your bridge screws facing towards your stop piece and you're good to go....

Stratdeluxer97 is right...and he is a lefty!

what you read was about some single coil Strat pickups...these pickups can be bought in a revers stagger, but this makes no difference in humbucking pickups. Welcome to the forum

welcome to the forum ... yup, no need to sweat the lefty thing with those pickups

and let us know how you like that agile when it comes in .... a bunch of us are interested in how they look/feel/ and sound

btw, great pickup choice!

Re: left handed guy with complete pickup newbie question

thank you all for you responses im headed out to rondo to pickup the guitar now, i'll a) compair the sound to the stock pickups of the 2500, 3000, 3500 (and the righty 3500 with the duncan 59 and jazz if its in stock) and post my impressions when i get back. hope i have made a good pickup choice, since i know so little my philosophy was simply if its seymours favorite its gotta be ok :)

Re: left handed guy with complete pickup newbie question

if (big if) you dont like those pups, you can probably use the SD 21 day return policy to trade them in on one's you want ...

let us know what kind of sound you are looking for, and we can help dial you in ...

my guess is that you'll love them :D

ps - make sure you have rondo throw in some lefty guitar picks while you're there :D

Re: left handed guy with complete pickup newbie question

thanks tone4days just to let you know im looking for a versitile combo that perhaps has a bit more punch then a standard (whatever that is) les paul setup but nonetheless can do all sorts of music from clean tone to hard rock. hope this config will work for that, again im a complete newbie to pickups (guitar parts in general) so im just taking seymours favorite much along the lines of ordering the "chef's special" in a restaurant. :)

Re: left handed guy with complete pickup newbie question

(JB/Jazz) is certainly a real solid set for the general direction you want to aim in ... you'll have to use the volume knob to get the fullest range as you describe (e.g. clean from the JB) ... but that's what it's there for :D

have fun

Re: left handed guy with complete pickup newbie question

does anyone here personally use this hotrodded humbucker combo and if so what can i expect? they (rondo) will be installing the pickups monday so if i want to do another combo i will have to make this decision over the weekend. also, i hear the jb has a higher sound then the 59...as the agile has an ebony fretboard will the jb be to un-les paul like and too snappy? any thoughts greatly apperciated.

Re: left handed guy with complete pickup newbie question

The JB in a les paul should sound somewhat like a EMG insofar as being crunchy.

Re: left handed guy with complete pickup newbie question

thank you jimmy...i don't know emg but just listened to some sounds on their site and not bad...i guess im stickng with this config.

No problem, dude.

A lot of guys here like to compare and contrast the EMG 81 best with the Duncan JB or Distortion.
