I would say it's legit. I've never seent hat decal on an American either but the serial number dates to a USA 1990 Strat. I checked with e-bay and found an E9 (also 1990 USA) Strat which had the same decals but in silver. It's legit.

The fender American Traditional strat was produced for a short period in 1998 apparently. Shooting for a more original styled strat in the american line (to sidetrack the people that were buying the mexican strats for the most traditional features (six screw tremolo, 21 frets, etc)) It's legit.

yeah, the CE sticker is required on all electronic devices of just about every kind if I'm not mistaken. All of my american guitars have had it....at least my fender ones

Apparently they were one of the cheapest models ever made in the US, so I can't imagine why anyone would go to the trouble of attempting to fake one. I'd say it's a US Fender Stratocaster, but only just. If it plays well and sounds good, you know the rest!

it's so wild.. i've never seen one of these but i do remember something faintly about them... everything about that strat points to a MIM quality guitar With a MIA label
1-The 3 single coil ceramic pickups
2-The trem has the small block just like MIM and it also has the saddles like my 1994 MIM Squier
3-The headstock truss rod hole has the black plastic "plug"
seems to be a MIM strat with the MIA tag... i'm sure it's a legit axe.... but an odd one that never took off

I say it's legit. It looks pretty cool to me, despite the small block. It seems big blocks aren't only preferred in muscle cars anymore.

hit up the fender hompage and run the serial number, get it registered so you can be a cool fender owner like myself.
