btw, i wanted to call this thread something more relevant but it wouldn't let me post it with any other title i tried if you can belive that. I mean wtf! anyway so out of frustration, i just name the thing 'lemme post!' and as it worked, it's staying. i did try again after but with a different title and it failed again.

any thoughts on the following ideas...
with phat cats and replaced harware or
with some kind of aftermarket lipsticks
will either of them end up being decent guitars in any way. Which one is the most promising? opinions!

I really don't like either. But I have the first one, in normal red, with no weird decals, and I know it plays well. So I'd go for that!
Stick a Custom 5 and a '59 in there and you're ready to rock.
However, since you like that Danelectro I'm guessing you don't actually want to rock?

Those things look terrible. The G-310 is made of alder with a bolt on neck, not a very SG-like SG if you ask me.
Save the money you wanna spend on upgrading those and get something a step better in the first place. All the nice hardware and pickups on earth won't make up for poor wood quality..

i like the emily the strange sg. who cares if it really sounds like an sg? as long as it sounds good it doesnt matter. and i think it looks awesome too

I'm a sucker for the old Danelctro's and have a few in the collection. Love em'. They don't make em' likle that anymore.
