Lengthening leads question

I just lengthened the leads one one of my pickups. I am completely new at soldering. I just took another wire from a strat copy i am not using and soldered it to the lead from the pickup. I tinned both wires and just attatched them together, but im not sure if the wire itself is actually touching, or if there is just solder in between. Should i redo it?

does it conduct electricity? if so, i wouldnt worry about it unless it looks absolutly horrible. cover the connection with shrink wrap or electrical tape to make sure it doesnt ground out on anything

You might want to redo it, and twist the wires around each other to make sure it's a good connection. But if it'll hold the way it is, it should be fine.
