I have a 2018 double humbucker Les Paul BFG. I have a Jazz bridge that I put in the neck that sounds great. I put a custom in the bridge and I’m not feeling like it’s cutting through as much as I’d like. This guitar is supposed to be more on the aggressive end. I’m running either through a twin reverb or an amp that my dad handwired with one of those Mojotone kits (I believe it’s one of the Reverbs). For comparison, I have a Les Paul with Dimarzio 36th Anniversary PAFs and when I run it through a Purple Plexi pedal it sounds amazing. You can nail Angus tones. I’m not feeling like the Custom even cuts as well as that. Any recommendations for a pickup for the bridge for more Metallica-esque metal or harder rock?
