Les Paul Std pickups??

Which pickups come in a LesPaul Std?
The guitar is a 1997 and the bridge pickup reads around 15k.

Is this a "498"... "490"... ??
I want to replace it with a Duncan but I just wondered if these stock pickups are A5's or A2's??

The 90`s standard came with 490R (neck) and 498T (bridge) alnico magnets.
Standards made today comes with burstbuckers:)

So... the 498 sounds close to the output of a JB, but seems to have some "hair" around the single notes, where a JB is much more articulate.
What would you guys say is the Duncan closest match to these pickups.

Yeah..thats an apt description of the 498, however I much prefer the 498 as it doesn't quite have the same upper mid spike, and has beefier lows..the "hair" as you put it can be very annoying in a brighter Les Paul, but in an all mahogany guitar (SG/FB studio, etc) it's not as overpowering.

Custom (SH5) will be closest to the 498. 490 is kinda it's own beast..but an APII would be somewhat close...as would a Seth.

What you say makes good sense.
The neck pickup measures between 11-12k which is pretty hot compared to a Seth/APII tho...

I have a set of Seth's in my other Les Paul...Great tone.
I wanted to make this Les Paul a little more of a screamer.
So, is that what stock LP Std pickups are called?
Burstbuckers? I've heard that term, but never knew what it was...
