Less harsh fuzz

Hi all,

I have a Suhr Rufus Reloaded that I had high expectations for but after a lot of attempts to make it work in my rig I think it's time to give it the "it's not you it's me" talk.... Looking for suggestions on a fuzz pedal that's pretty smooth and also has a midrange control.

for fuzz pedals, i like germanium fuzz faces with carbon 9v batteries but they sound best with low output pups and arent for everyone. i know little about the rufus other than it has switchable octave up. if its an octavia type circuit, they werent very smooth or sweet sounding fuzz. most fuzz pedals im familiar with dont have a mid control. the fulltone 69 pedal can be set to sound pretty smooth and has a contour control rather than mid control though
