less than jake (welcome to rockview) tone

Well, I was having a chit chat with Benjy_26 and I was wondering, how do the guys from less than jake get the tones they do? We couldn't quiet get the answer to the question due to the fact that the whole thing just comes off as a wall of sound and not one guitar cuts through. Its three layerings on most of the "welcome to rockview" album. I really like the tones, and do any of you guys know how I could achive this with one of my strats(80's fender body, 70's ovation neck) with my trem bolted down, and a rosewood fretboard

dude you had to ask about the one ska band's tone that befuddles me. i can figure out most other ska bands sound just not them:evil:

Re: less than jake (welcome to rockview) tone

When I saw them live around the time that cd came out they were using humbucker loaded tele's I'm pretty sure

Re: less than jake (welcome to rockview) tone

I saw them a couple times wayyyy back in the day. I want to say LP with p90s but its been too long.

Re: less than jake (welcome to rockview) tone

honestly it sounds like there's two amps goin' on in there, a fender deluxe 'verb and a tweed of some sort.

See that's the thing, my franken strat with the pearly gates gets the tone, the washburn in my avatar gets the tones, Benjy_26's hamer gets the tone, all into his riviera also in the avatar... I don't get it! For sure they layer a clean sound, a dirty, and maybe acoustic???
