Lets talk VHT Valvulator I

I got a pedalboard consisting of a fulltone clyde deluxe->keely-modded BD-2->Voodoo Lab Analog chorus->boss giga delay->boss tu-2 tuner.

This setup sucks a little tone when I'm running my axes through it. I just recently soldered a bunch of patch cables for it (mogami w/ neutrik connectors), but that hasn't done enough for me. Its just not the same as plugging directly into the amp.

So...I'm wonderin what ya'll think of the VHT valvulator. If it does what it says it does, it looks like it might be exactly what I'm lookin for. Any users in here?

It never really did anything for me. I run about 50 feet of cable through a wah pedal and a Banshee talkbox before it gets to the amp, so I thought the Valvulator might help. Didn't notice any difference so I sent it back.

I had a valvulator when I was running a massive amount of pedals before and I used it for a power supply. great quiet power supply, and the buffer really did give my tone just a little more meat (not a lot, but just enough) I recommend them highly

You might also look at getting a true bypass loop with a tuner out. Tuner pedals, especially the TU-2, are known for sucking tone. My pedalboard is usually changing quite often, but I usually go with my Teese Wah -> True Bypass Looper (One switch goes to the tuner, the other goes out to the pedals in the loop then back out to the looper). I also usually have a one or TB pedals after the loop. This way when I'm not playing through a pedal, my signal path is pretty much guitar -> wah -> looper -> amp.
