Sorry-this was super rushed- so the playing is pretty lame-o. But I wanted to get something up for a few people.

Laptop mic (noisy- especially with the 60 cycle hum). Strat. Custom Shop 69s. Duncan PUP booster, VOX AD15 VT.

If I recall previous posts about you being an Iron Maiden fan (as I am), I'm surprised I didn't hear anything that sounded like Janick's style!

Maiden Fan? Definitely....sans Janick Gers. Like the guy as a person, hate him in maiden jumping about like a faerie butchering every bit of H's work and wish they'd kick him out of the band :smash: (FYI-This past month's guitar legends was the Iron Maiden issue, and twice Bruce stated they basically gave Jannick the job cos they needed someone quick to replace Adrian, and they felt bad for him cos he couldn't get any work as a guitar player ..hmmm.. I wonder why? )

I was using a JB Jr. before and def could cop a Janick Gers tone :34:

5.8K singles don't really lend themselves well to doing Maiden , however with the resonance 2 kicked in, it's pretty close to sounding like a "tame" humbucker- Like a cross between a P90 and a PAF.

My next strat will be set-up for "metal" and harder rock. either H-H or SSS with stacked singles :bigthumb:

^ Yep, I remember your Janick comments from a previous thread and I share those feelings. I know this is a terrible reason not to get a pickup but I'm avoiding the JB Jr. because of Janick's tone (even though I've never tried one). I love my hotrails though.

JB Jr sounds great. I don't mind Jannicks bridge tone so much. Not crazy about his neck tone. It's the playing and prancing that bugs me

Irregardless, the Jr is a really cool pickup and sounds great in the bridge of a strat!

That sounds very nice, I personally love buzz and incidental noise, the guitar is driven by simple technology, keeps it 'real' imo.... Great rhythm chops!

I just saw Maiden in Phoenix and Janick did prance around quite a bit. Yuck.

Dave and Adrian were more than cool enuff to make up for it, though. I dig Adrians Custom Jackson FR Strat.

I saw them in NYC 2 weeks ago - awesome show. Adrian switched bewteen two white Jacksons which looked so cool!
