Hey, have you been loving the Soul Food still after this much time of owning it? I put the right Telefunken diodes in it, and it sounds even better. I call it the Klon Killa.

And I think he sould his soul food. He said he had a more expensive clone and kept that one or something

I've only found the oa126 on ebay, once. Guy was asking $25 for two diodes. I'm still confused as to why you would spend $62 on a pedal, then $25 on some diodes. Even if you didn't spend $25 on the diodes, that's what the market is asking right now. So maybe you hold onto those diodes and build a pedal that doesn't have QC issues, or maybe you hold onto them and just do some OA1160s in series, which from what I've read is supposed to be pretty decent anyway.

For another $25, you could have gotten carbon comp resistors and very nice capacitors, and an enclosure. I mean, lew's favorite, the PCE AF1, costs $155.50 now. I'm just confused as to why your friend wanted to put a LS7 in a miata. Yeah, it's been done before. But your friend would have (1) a better pedal, with (2) better resale value, if he just put those telefunken diodes in a pedal that has non-SMD components. I feel like even though money is no object, it just makes sense to, you know, not invest a rare commodity into a rapidly depreciating asset.

I'm still very curious as to how it sounds, however.

That's great Trev! For my part I've always found the run of the mill 1n34a germanium to be amazing in centaur clones... I'm assuming you've experimented and found those to be even superior?

Lew's gone for now. Wait a while. He'll be back in a few months.
