Lew,Jeremy,Would You Share Your Verbzilla Setting?

STRATDELUXER97

Stratoblaster Tone Meister
Hi guys...I have practice tomorrow night with our band and my pedal is more than likely going to show up late afternoon tomorrow also...

Could you please give me a close enough setting to get a BF type of spring reverb setting that'll work for me until I get to spend alot more time with the pedal?

I don't want a Richard Dale "sproingy" reverb, just something in the BF Reverb setting say between 2 and 3 on the reverb pot...I'm just not going to have time to really mess with it tomorrow but I'd sure love to see how it sounds through my clean set up Marshall....

Any other Verbzilla users by all means let me know about your settings also!

Thanks all.

I use the '62 reverb setting only.

I set the tone and decay (time?) a little more than 1/2 way up...if I remember correctly.

The mix is less than 1/2...if I remember correctly.

What I did when I first got it was set my tweed Deluxe and blackface Deluxe reverb up side by side and then adjust the Verbzilla into the tweed Deluxe until the reverb sounded as close as I could get it to the reverb in the blackface Deluxe Reverb.

John, I'm giving those settings from memory only...I could be way off!:laugh2:

Basically I tried to make the Verbzilla sound like the reverb in my DR when it's set to about 2 1/2.

I was going to A/B with my 66 Pro Reverb, but as I say,I probably won't have alot of time later on to do that and so I wanted to cheat for now! :laugh2: I'll just turn the knobs until it sounds good later.:laugh2:

Re: Lew,Jeremy,Would You Share Your Verbzilla Setting?

All my knobs for my 'normal' sound sit at about 12' o clock on the '62 setting

Thanks buddy.....It was probably stupid of me to ask for actual settings from you guys anyway! I just need to get it and twist the knobs,I'm good at that anyway...Appreciate the posts.

Re: Lew,Jeremy,Would You Share Your Verbzilla Setting?

Got the pedal at around 4 pm today and it took me about 2 minutes to dial in something doable for me tonight...I see alot of stuff on the pedal that I'll never use,but I Liked the hall setting, the 63,and the spring reverb settings so far..

Re: Lew,Jeremy,Would You Share Your Verbzilla Setting?

I took mine to band practice tonight for the first time. It sounded great. I'm still liking the Hall and Plate settings best. Once you decide on a model to use, tweaking the mix, decay and time to fine-tune it is pretty quick. I think I'm going to be using this pedal a lot! :)

My pedal sounded really good through my ole Marshall tonight also...I used both the 63 setting and the Hall setting...Both worked out really well and I had these settings so it didn't wash out my starting clean tone...I Like this pedal alot! Thanks first to Lew,Jeremy, and then everyone else who I can't remember and left out.:smack:

Thanks to you too John for starting a thread about this pedal last week. The timing was perfect for me, as I'd just identified my need for a good reverb pedal. I was looking for used Boss reverbs on ebay, but I think the Verbzilla is going to serve me better. Another SD forum triumph! :fing2:

Glad it worked out for ya Simon! Now we both share a pretty awesome reverb pedal..:laugh2: :beerchug:

Re: Lew,Jeremy,Would You Share Your Verbzilla Setting?

Glad you're liking it John. It doesn't sound exactly like a Fender spring reverb but I can get it so close that (unlike my Boss RV-3 which was good but sounded slightly tanky, metallic and artificial) I don't feel like anything is lacking and I can just forget about my gear and just play. So far I've used my Verbzilla primarily through my tweed Fenders that don't have reverb: the 5e3 tweed Deluxe and my '51 tweed Super. But if I take my Matchless SC-30 onstage this spring I'll use the Verbzilla with it too.

It's stereo so you can also use the Verbzilla to split your guitar signal so you can drive two guitar amps at once.

:cool3: I did not notice that feature.

Maybe mine will arrive tomorrow....

Re: Lew,Jeremy,Would You Share Your Verbzilla Setting?

:fart: Dang it John you are giving me GAS again!!!!

Re: Lew,Jeremy,Would You Share Your Verbzilla Setting?

So I take it you're liking it? :fingersx: Lew

Sorry Lew...meant to respond back to you earlier...I Used it for close to 4 hours with my band and you're right Lew,it doesn't sound "just" like a Fender spring reverb, but it does a very convincing job.It gave my Marshall that nice sense of space and dimension that alot of us love about the old Fender amps w/reverb.I also was able to just switch over to the "hall" setting and got a really nice spacious sound for the song "Ain't Even Done With The Night" from John Mellencamp. The tone was really nice and full and spacious! I'm really happy with the pedal straight away, though I feel I payed quite a bit of money maybe for like 2 to 3(what I call usable presets)but that's ok really!:smack:

Anyway, yes I Like the pedal alot Lew....And Man is this thing built strong! Heavy as hell also!:laugh2:

So far I Like the 63 setting, spring, and Hall.....Haven't tryed some of the other settings yet,but I have wrote down 2 that I liked so far,so I can easily dial back to it..:13:
