Liberator Wiring Question

I'm sure this is a very simple question, and I think I know the answer but I wanted to make sure before I start soldering.

I have a Jackson SL2H and am planning on replacing the stock JB with a Custom, swapping out the 250k tone pot for a 500k and making it a volume for the neck, and replacing the volume pot with the Liberator.

I plan to follow the schematic here: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=LB1_2v_LBVOL

I already have the Liberator, a new 500k pot, and the TB-5 Custom.

I noticed in the schematic, there is no "ground wire from bridge". I would certainly still need to solder the ground wire somewhere, correct? Would it be fine if I just solder the ground wire to the back of the neck volume pot?

Re: Liberator Wiring Question

Any ground connection will work. You could use the back of the pot, the "sleeve" connection of the output jack, or any one of the ground pads on the liberator circuit board. Personally, I'd use the "ground" on the output jack.

Re: Liberator Wiring Question

You can also use the other ground screw terminal next to the three potentiometer terminals. That's why there's a 4-station connector on that side. Sometimes people use it for the ground to the other pots, really any other ground connection.

Re: Liberator Wiring Question

Thanks! Got everything wired up and sounding great. Very happy with the Custom compared to the JB that was in there.
