I'm always super impressed with the JB tone everytime I install a new JB in a guitar. But although it's a classic and a great pickup, the JB is a little to much for me too. It's just a little to thick, hot and penetrating for me to use all the time and I like a lower output pickup with a little more relaxed sparkle. For me, that would be the 59B. Eric Clapton's tone with Cream is my favorite humbucker tone...Eric Johnson loves that tone too. IMO, the 59B nails it. Lew

I vote for the C5, should balance out the basswood body nicely. I also like the C5 split, very jangly in my experiences. Good luck.
