like the hot rails?

my friend wants to replace his bridge pickup. he likes my hot rails, and he explained the sound he wanted as "crunchy, yet crisp" (i think hes talking about them being articulate and not muddy). basically a full sizedhumbucker as close to hot rails as possible. we were thinking the invader would work. he plays all kinds of wierd stuff, but the tone he wants is kind of like the new linkin park stuff. its for a strat (alder body, rosewood fingerboard). any brand will do.

Re: like the hot rails?

im thinking dimarzio drop 6? thats what the guy from linkin park uses, i think?

Re: like the hot rails?

thanks. has anyone ever used the super distortion? to me it seems like it would sound more like late 70's and 80's rock/ metal which i dont think he wants but the specs look close to what he wants. what about that one?

Dimebucker!
ive never tried that but im pretty sure they cant be as good as the bill lawrences. wouldnt that be too bright for an alder strat?

Re: like the hot rails?

I second the Invader, Ive had a MIM Strat with a hotrails and another one with an invader. They both have tons of mids and lots of gain.
