Lil' 59 bridge - 250K Volume, 500K Tone?

Hi, all :cool2:

I'm unable to find locally a 250K push-pull tone pot, but I do have a 500K (push-pull for coil split) pot lying around. (And I don't know if it's a volume or tone pot.)

I'm curious as if this combination (using the .022 cap. in common with the other 250K tone pot) will sound strange.

This is what I was planning to do for my Strat:

Neck: SSL-1 (250K Volume - 250K Tone 1)
Middle: SSL-1 (250K Volume - 250K Tone 1)
Bridge: Lil' 59 (250K Volume - 500K push-pull Tone 2)

I know I can get a 250K tone pot online and wait...or try this configuration out 'cause it's easily changed.

But, before going through the aggravation, I thought I would ask has anybody here done what I'm planning to do and thought it sounded awful?
:scratchch

From reading another thread, should I just wire Tone 2 (250K) to all three pickups and only use the 500K pot for the split coil feature of the Lil' 59?

I'm curious as if this combination (using the .047 cap. in common with the other 250K tone pot) will sound strange.

It might change the taper in a bad way,but put a 500k resistor across both outside terminals, and you have a 250k or there abouts...Would be best to try the 500k and see how it works first....I normally stick with a .022 cap....

Thank you for replying. :beerchug:

I will try it as a stock value pot first. Adding the 500K resistor would be an easy and inexpensive way to get around it....good idea!

Yes, I'm going to use the .022 for both pots.

Thanks!
