Lil 59 Neck in Bridge position on my strat?

Re: Lil 59 Neck in Bridge position on my strat?

The bridge position on a Strat (or any guitar actually) is subjected to a lot less string energy than the neck position, because it's right next to the focal point of the string. The neck position, being further up the string senses a lot more vibration, therefore doesn't need as much output to equal that of the same model bridge pickup. The Lil'59 isn't a high volume pup as it is, so I'm not sure that you'd be terribly happy with the results of that particular model in the bridge position.

Never tried the Little 59 neck as a bridge pickup.

But when I used to use a JB JR in the bridge position of my Strat I tried both the neck model and bridge model in several differant Strats and found that I prefered the neck model JB JR. but I used it in the bridge position.

It was brighter and more open and blended with the middle pickup better while still giving me the increased output for soloing that I was after.

These days, I like the Texas Hot Custom or Twangbanger...but they were not available back when I was using the JB Jr.
