lil 59 or QP?

Hello. Right now I have a hotrails in my tele and it is too hot and bassy. I was thinking about getting a full size hb, but i think that might be too expensive. My tele is my only guitar, and I cant really afford a new one at the moment. I want a guitar that has decent cleans, but could also cover metal with the right amp/stompbox. would a quater pounder of lil 59 work for this? Im also playing some leads, so i don't want something too muddy. Thanks

I think either will do what you need. If you go with the QP though buy the tapped version so you can get good Tele tone from the lower output tapped coil.
