I installed a used Lil '59er in the bridge of my Squier Telecaster. I am not very experienced with pickup installation so I was wondering if anyone could confirm these results.
The tone selector is the original three-way switch. In the neck position, I get my standard neck tone. In the bridge position I get a recognizable humbucker tone. However, in the middle position I get something which sounds like a combination of the neck sound and the bridge sound routed through a ****ed and locked wah-wah (think Mark Knopfler on Money For Nothing). The tone is not unpleasant, but I am concerned that there is some kind of phase issue or perhaps some bad solder.
Is this the sound I should expect, or do I have an installation problem?
