Lil' issue with Strat serial number font

Anyone familiar with 2013 MIM Strat? I stumbled upon this beautiful beauty which is selling for a very good price considering it's claimed to be only a year old and in a mint condition. But I have doubt about the serial number, whose fonts are completely different from those of 2012 and under Strat. This one is written in serif while my search turned serial numbers written in sans serif. Everything about this guitar looks legit to me except the serial number.

I appreciate anyone's help:

Maybe you have your glasses on upside down?

I thought about that too, but the funny thing is my sight is perfect. Here's a shot of an MIM serial number that I normally find, for comparison. See the fonts are written in sans-serif fonts:

Serial number of a 2010 MIM (sans serif font):

Serial number of the guitar at issue (2013 MIM, serif font):

Typeface!!!

A font is a wooden case for containing letter press printing type.

Ask the shop to pull the pickguard off and check if the pickups are authentic?

Typeface!!!

In the OP, the use of the word typeface would be more correct. However...

A font is a wooden case for containing letter press printing type.

...is also not correct. A font is a specific subset of a general typeface. For instance, within the courier typeface, 10 point, 10 point bold, and 10 point italic are each a different font, as would be 12 point, 12 point bold, and 12 point italic. The only difference is that one describes the general look of the alphabet and characters, and one specifies the size, thickness, and style. While these sets of characters were kept in wooden boxes, the word font does not refer to the boxes themselves.
