Re: Li'l Screamin Demon Neck Pickup
I haven't used the neck model specifically but the bridge model works great in the neck. If your bridge pickup is the same or has more output, it's a great match.
Well to make things more confusing:
The Neck version works also great in my Alder Strat Bridge (except for middle and bridge combined in parallel (demon in series)) with 250k Vol pot, no Tone.
Haven't tried it in the regular/neck spot yet.
output and eq wise it balances well with the Stock Fender V-mod singles. if the Bridge in a strat is too middy/compressed i always think it sounds stupid switching from the neck single to the humbucking Bridge.
It's quite alright with the lil Demon.
It's got quite some growl and can sound too dry if you use it with a low crunchy gain setting. You also hear this in the duncan sound clips.
But this thing can take a lot of gain without sounding undefined, honky, too compressed. So the characteristics of it's big brother are retained.
unlike the lil 59 bridge for tele I've tried which sounds nothing like a '59.
the lil demon neck is quite low output. you can hear some of the ceramic magnet characteristics though.
a small comparison too the chopper can be found hear in post #31:
