Line 6 Guitar Port!

Mr 9finger

Digitally Challenged
I have to say that this little gadget is quite possibly the best $75 I've spent on gear in awhile. Is it a super fantastic tone monster? No. Does it nail every amp model like the real thing? No. What it is, is probably the best little practice setup I've came across. It's 2am here and I just got done jamming out. Didn't even wake the ol lady up or make the cat mad!

Lots of good tones a few clicks away. Totally tweakable. And even better yet. Totally expandable. It comes w/ a nice model set that could possibly cover anything your looking for. But you can upgrade these units to full XT spec as well as get the add on model packs like the metal shop ;)

For someone like me that works 2nd shift and doesn't have time to play during the day and can't really practice at night because of the late hour. Or possibly someone in an apt. situation that can't get loud at any time. I really think this little package is ideal!

It's ez to hookup and install. The software is user friendly. IIRC for the guitar player that isn't a computer geek like myself. Last but not least, it's CHEAP! I think they go for $100 new.

I had a problem w/ my first one being bad and the folks at Line6 were very patient and ended up sending me a brand new unit! Even the tech support is first class.

I'm looking forward to many late night jam sessions w/ my new little toy! And w/ it being computer based, I don't have have to move my whole rig over by my desk to learn tabs or lessons online!

Re: Line 6 Guitar Port!

Cool, glad to see you finally got it working. I bought the guitarport when it first came out 4 years ago almost to the day. Just started playing that february and was borrowing my cousins peavey trans tube. I went to Tech that fall, so I knew he wouldnt let me take it. Found out there was a way to plug your guitar into the computer, and i bought it without really hesitating or researching reviews. Was $170, but it was still the best 170 Ive spent in a long time. I still use it like crazy, and its all I have here in Montreal.

I recommend getting the metal shop if you use some higher gain sounds, its really worth it. Ive made some great presets you can have if you decide to get it.
