Line 6 Pedal MAYHEM

Just bought the DL4 - HOLY WOW SH*T! This thing is amazing!

How did I use racks and Boss delays for so long? This is small and easy to use with 3 options right at your feet!

Anyone else use their Amp, Distortion, Modulation, or Filter pedals?

I am debating on getting the Modulation / Filter or BOTH!

I don't want my board to be all Line 6 but damn I am impressed with ease of use and convenience and all the sounds you get.

for a real treat, combine it with an expression pedal, and it is like getting 3 more presets. sweep between different settings- its fun, and noisy!

Re: Line 6 Pedal MAYHEM

Yeah i've tried a couple of them out. Love the sound, only thing that held me back though is some of the reviews.. appearantly they aren't too reliable. Like an iPod its got a "die after one year" circuit installed :smack:

no personal experience on them going ka put though so congrats and a half my friend!

Re: Line 6 Pedal MAYHEM

There's a reason that thing is on almost every pedalboard I've seen. It's a modern classic....a really fun pedal.

I'm taking Mincer's advise and buying a Boss volume pedal, so I can take advantage of the expression feature.

What I find amazing about the pedal is that it doesn't have that digital ping that older stompboxes had. I like the blue Modulation pedal too. I'm not sure what I'd use the purple one for, but it seems enticing.

Re: Line 6 Pedal MAYHEM

That is basically the only pedal I use now. There have been some little reliability quirks every now and then, nothing too serious.

Re: Line 6 Pedal MAYHEM

I've never owned one, but I've heard plenty of stories about the switches going bad. Seems most people either get a lemon, or they work forever.

The switches don't really go bad, but it's a good idea to always make sure the nuts are tight on them, because they get loose easily.
They're like a spring loaded plunger, which touches a digital pad inside. Be really careful if you ever open the unit, because the plunger assemblies have to be put together perfectly or else they don't engage the pads inside.

Re: Line 6 Pedal MAYHEM

I've had one for about 6 months now and only last night, did I truly begin to unlock what can be done with it. It truly is a modern classic. And a great pedal!

Re: Line 6 Pedal MAYHEM

never had any reliability problems with mine, and none had been reported in my band (even the vocalist uses one). as far as the expression pedal goes, make sure it has a low impedence pot, like 10-25k (not 250k) for it to work well.

Re: Line 6 Pedal MAYHEM

So no real comments on the other models?

I want a pimp FUNK WAH SOUND and an OCTAVIA sound. Perhaps a fake Univibe would save me the space of having my Uni on my board.

O normally use digital FX but I gettin' back to boards and old school.
