Hi Guys! Just stopped by for a minute to let you know about the new Line 6 Verbzilla I just bought. IMO, it's the best sounding reverb pedal I've ever owned. Compared to my Boss, the Verbzilla is deeper, more natural and less metallic and less "tanky" sounding.

It's stereo so I can use it with a pair of Fender tweed Deluxes.

Personally, I like it better than the stand alone Fender unit because it doesn't seem to diminish or degrade the guitar signal the way the stand alone Fender unit does.

Here's the one I bought: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...90016379625&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT&rd=1 I've only had it a few days but I'm very impressed with it. Very flexable settings and deep, rich and very, very good tone. Also, it has a setting called "trails" which when it's engaged allows the reverb to trail off when you turn the pedal "off" instead of the reverb stopping abruptly.

So far, there's nothing I don't like about it.

I still prefer the built in reverb in my blackface Fender Deluxe Reverb and Vibrolux Reverb amps...but the Verbzilla is the next best thing and I'm very, very satisfied with the way it sounds through my non-reverb Matchless SC-30 and my old tweed Fenders. Just wanted to give you a heads up on this killer reverb pedal. Lew

Thanks for the review Lew,
I have been looking for a good Reverb pedal, and will check this one out tomorrow at Guitar Center.

Re: Line 6 Verbzilla: maybe the best reverb pedal ever?

Cool review, Lew. For whatever reason, I'd always hated reverb (bad for palm muted metal, I guess), but I'm really getting into it now. I'd been kind of wanting one of those EH Holy Grails, but considering the price difference, I'll definitely check out the Line 6 pedal.

Re: Line 6 Verbzilla: maybe the best reverb pedal ever?

I haven't checked that thing out yet, probably because I'm satisfied using my Holy Grail. It's good to hear it's worth buying. Using the green and blue modelers has become so common, that half the boards I see have them. You can't deny the endless amount of sounds you can get out of one unit.

Re: Line 6 Verbzilla: maybe the best reverb pedal ever?

i think it is cool how a guy like lew with killer ears for vintage tone can be open minded to accept a digitizing element in his signal path ... so many guys would turn up their noses at the phase destructive properties of an a/d and d/a ... but good tone is where you find it ... great review, lew ... enjoy the toy

Re: Line 6 Verbzilla: maybe the best reverb pedal ever?

I agree, Lew. Definitly one of the better verb pedals, if not the best.

Re: Line 6 Verbzilla: maybe the best reverb pedal ever?

yes. i love mine.
"octo" is great combined with a volume swell. try it!

Re: Line 6 Verbzilla: maybe the best reverb pedal ever?

The consensus seems to be overwhelmingly positive on those. I've been reading alot of threads about reverb pedals recently and the Verbzilla comes out on top much of the time.

Re: Line 6 Verbzilla: maybe the best reverb pedal ever?

Hm. I've been wondering how good it was. I've heard some good things. Your review pushes it over the top. Thanks, Lew.

I've been praising this pedal for months. I'm glad Lew is onboard with this .:)
When he speaks...People Listen. He's like the E.F. Hutton of good tone.:laugh2:

Re: Line 6 Verbzilla: maybe the best reverb pedal ever?

I got one yesterday and can also speak highly of it! Now, I just have to wait until tomorrow when my pedal case comes!

ditto...i'm gonna but a couple pedals here real soon and i don't care for the verb on my Jr. so i was considering this one?!

Re: Line 6 Verbzilla: maybe the best reverb pedal ever?

how does reverb differ in composing the overall tone when it is 'up front' before the amp vs. when it is in the loop, after the preamp? ... i've never used 'verb up front, only after the preamp

Re: Line 6 Verbzilla: maybe the best reverb pedal ever?

Hmmm...

I already own the Tap Tremolo and the Constrictor. The only other pedal in that line that I'm GASsing for is the Echo Park. Now I may have to consider the Verbzilla. Thanks for the GAS Lew! ;) :D:laugh2:
