Listen/comment on my solos?

Hey guys. Just wanted to hear if you could share some opinions about my solos on my bands new demo (www.myspace.com/eternalexilesthlm). I'm always looking to get better so critisism is welcome. I play the solo in fight for life, the first solo in strong and brave and the wahwah solo in time to catch.

Cheers if you take the time! :)

Re: Listen/comment on my solos?

I listened to a couple and they were fine. I like how you did not over play the solos or sacrifice melody for the solos. The tone was good and I liked it.

One thing is that the vocals sounded kind of like they were on top of the music instead of in it. I don't know if that makes sense but maybe you could mix the vocals a little better.

Let me ask you one question. Do you think you have any Iron Maiden influence in your music?

I guess cause I'm an OLD dude and this sounded kinda early metal...I liked it a LOT!! It just was really enjoyable to listen to. Damm fine job!!

The lead guitar sounds great and the tone fits well with the overall sound. The vocalist is doing a fine job as well, but I agree that the vocal is a little too far out front in the mix.

Hi there Stockholm...

Great songs and great singing, reminds me about the Finnish band .......ahhh......cant remember their name.

About soloing, you need to practice you're vibrato and bend's.
Not that it's bad, but it can get better and a good vibrato is very important .
Good melodic touch.

Thanks a lot for you comments guys :beerchug:

Lindgren, I know I have gotten kind of sloppy with my vibrato, I guess I must think more about it and get my touch back ;)

A lot of people have said that the vocals are too high hehe, maybe they are but it's better than the other way around!

What's your opinion on the wahwah solo? It's my favourite cos it's kinda strange, I just improvised strange things at my singers place when we recorded for fun, and we keept a solo pretty close to this one. Then I listened to it later and was like, "woot did I play that???" :D and I though it was so cool and had to "learn" my own solo.

Re: Listen/comment on my solos?

this first solo is nice and simple. could get better only by changing copletley. it is like a "decent riff" get me?

this solo also was not much special, but i like it good enough.

i really like the intro to this song. anyway about the solo: i8 like this soo the best actually pretty **** good.

i like you guys, you are pretty good. for sure a better lead player than me! lol.

Re: Listen/comment on my solos?

Great songs! I really dig the band..the singer has a great voice, everybody has his stuff together. Guitars sounds really great, good timing. Yeah the vibrato could be more alive but that's something you work on the whole life :D Other than that, great touch on the guitar.

2 thumbs up!
