Lithium grease + 2 point floating trem = Awesome for me!

I tried lip chap/balm & pencil lead powder before on the nut slots, string trees, trem studs, knife edges & the saddles, including the contact point of strings before reaching the saddle. Never got happy with the results.

I had a big tube of lithium grease lying around that i got to use on my wah pedal pot teeths. It isn't white like the stuff found on a new out of box dunlop wah pedal, more yellowish golden & bit transparent. Today I decided to give it a try on my strat. Used it on the nut slots, string trees & the knife edges of the bridge. Oh my God! It worked amazingly. I can go bonkers with the whammy bar & get back to +0.5 cent in tune. I'm so happy with the results that I thought I'd share it with you guys.

Alternately I had found that using various tension springs was useful as well to maintain tuning stability, but this grease is far easier to apply, less time consuming & much more effective. Plus I think the wear & tear would be reduced at the contact points as well, the description on the package says long term protection against oxidation so I assume it will not corrode the strings or metal surfaces where I have used it.

Anyways, I might try it on the string posts as well but maybe not, a silky smooth string might unwind itself lol
