Little 59 height. ?

I have the everything axe configuration on a strat with the little 59 in the neck position, the duck buster in the middle and the JB Junior in the bridge... I'm not liking the neck pickup or the combination of the neck and the middle ...The Lil 59 is set fairly low. The duck buster in the middle position alone is okay... the combination of the duck buster and the bridge pickup in coil split mode is awesome... the jb Junior in the bridge by itself is very good also.
the guitar technician that installed the new pickguard said that he set the heights to get an even output with all three pickups single coil mode.

You can always raise the Little 59 a quarter turn at a time (measure your starting point first). What don't you like about the neck pickup?

I'll experiment. It's hard to define what I don't like about it. Dull , odd overtones? If a height adjustment doesn't work I'll have to produce some sound samples to share here. So far I'm thinking that setting all 3 pickups so they have the same output level in single coil mode isn't going to work for me.

It might just not be the right pickup for you. Do you want something hotter? With a different EQ?

Not hotter. I like having the neck and neck-middle combination be a bit mellow. I'm sure somebody smarter than me thought long and hard before combining the three in that Everything Axe combination. I did raise the bass side of the Neck Lil59 one-hlalf turn this morning and it seemed to help. Time will tell.

I have a little 59 in all three positions of my Strat. I just raised them all as high as possible and I like it better. They sound fatter and perhaps have more compression ( not sure) . They were thin when set down lower. To me the higher position sounds sort of vintage, no? I play jazz and blues (not rock) with .08 strings and the lowest possible action. I'm almost always on the neck pickup.

Adjust the E string (low E and high E) polepieces to be flat with the top of the pickup.

Raise the middle four polepiece slightly to create an arch that matches the arch of the frets of your fingerboard.

Hold the low E string down at the highest fret and adjust the overall pickup height to about 1/8" away from the underside of the string.

Hold the high E string down at the highest fret and adjust the pickup to about 1/16" away from the underside of the string.

Give it a try and then adjust further away if you need to.

The Little 59 is a very dull sounding pup, imo. You can brighten it up by raising the pole screws a turn or two then raise the entire pup as Lew suggested.
