Little 59 Question

I have a 2018 Deluxe Nashville Telecaster. It has all Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups. Alder body, Pau Ferro fretboard and 1M ohm volume and tone pots. If I remover the bridge pickup and replace it with a Duncan Little 59, what can I expect?

Re: Little 59 Question

the lil 59 is a great pup, more middy and not as open as a full size 59. with 1m controls itll have some nice spank to it

Re: Little 59 Question

I wish Seymour had more offerings in the single-size humbucker models for Telecaster bridge position.

What is in regular production is driven by the market. But the Custom Shop can build any little humbucker with the voicing of any full-size one, or as close as physics will allow.

Re: Little 59 Question

Lil 59 is a fantastic pickup for a Nashville Tele, have used mine live and in the studio. I also contacted the Custom Shop a while back and ordered a Pearly Gates for Tele, another awesome pickup, that one is used in my 72 Tele Deluxe...

Here's my project so far....

I'm going to keep the Vintage Noiseless Strat pickup in the middle position; but I have ordered a fullsize 59 model for the neck position. I'm not really playing Country with anyone, save for woodshedding for any cals that might come in. I'm looking at a Jazz/Blues project with a couple of guys (bassist and drummer). Maybe like Robben Ford and the Blueline. These pickups will get me where I need to be.

I bet the 59 in the neck position will not only sound cool, but look cool, too.

I'm thinking it will look a little like this; but with have the Little 59 in the bridge. The Kisekae tool doesn't have a Little 59 anymore.

Re: Little 59 Question

hows the little 59 sound with 1k pots?

It sounds good; but not great. The ashtray bridge makes it a little brighter than the stainless bridge. That has an adverse effect on the the two single coils; but the neck pickup is being replaced. Now, that's all through my Line 6. Through the Hot Rod Deluxe, the Little 59 and single coils all sound good. I may need to try and raise the poles to get it a little brighter?

Wish Seymour made a Red Devil for Tele bridge.

Re: Little 59 Question

i dont think the red devil is brighter than the lil 59

Re: Little 59 Question

Thought about that and thought about a white pearl guard too. For this one, I wanted an all-black look, kind of like Billy Sheehan's Yamaha bass.

That is a pretty cool look. You don't see a ton of those 50s colors with all black.
