Little 59 vs. Pro Track for Strat Bridge

Looking for a single-coil sized humbucker that will pair well with two Area 67s in the neck and middle. I figured this would be the best pairing in the bridge - I had planned on doing this a few weeks ago but got tied up.

Anyway - which of the two would you recommend and why? Can't seem to find much on the Pro Track online (demo wise) so I'm having to rely on experiences of those that have used it. I'd like to be able to use it for cleans but I want something thicker than a Strat bridge pickup, something like a vintage sounding humbucker (PAF-style) that can sound good driven for blues/rock/country. Not really for Metal/high gain use.

i have zero experience with the pro track, i was interested in them a while ago but couldnt find much on them.

a friend of mine has two strats with lil 59's in the bridge and loves them

What could you tell me about the Little 59? I had one in a Tele but it's not quite the same beast as the Strat version.

I don't know about the Pro Track, but I had a Little 59 set in my strat a few months ago. I think I wrote a little review here which you can find if you do a search for "Lil 59." I think the Little 59 is pretty good, but I liked it more as a neck pickup. The bridge didn't really do it for me.

A pickup that I've been experimenting with since I got my Dimarzio AT-1 is the Chopper. I had it in the neck and it was awesome so I put it in my white strat to see how it sounds in the bridge. According to Dimarzio it makes a good bridge pickup, and it actually does. I'll bet the Pro Track will be a great pickup and maybe you should consider a Lil 59 neck to go with it.

Well the thing is, I really love the Area 67s in the neck and middle, so I don't really want to change those. It's just the bridge pickup that's been the pain for me. Never found anything quite right.

Ya know, that Chopper is a pretty cool pickup! I'm gonna look into that one a bit more...thanks!

Don't forget to check into the STK-S9. It's a great pickup for bridge, but not as big and hot as the Dimarzio. To me it is really good for kind of a brown sound. It's probably my favorite Seymour Duncan single size pickup.

I think the Pro Track would be a better bridge pickup because it's hotter and is supposed to have thicker mids and bass. The Chopper is awesome for the neck. If you want less output to match with your other pickups then I can see why the Chopper would be a better choice for your bridge pickup.

Check out these videos. These are what convinced me to buy a Chopper for my strat. The audio quality is as good as you will get from a camcorder but he's playing both the Pro Track and Chopper through a Splawn head. I think it sounds awesome.

Yeah, I saw that guy's demos and they sounded pretty awesome. I'm thinking the Chopper might do the trick because of the demos I've heard. I've heard some Pro Track demos, but the Chopper in the bridge seems to be more of what I'm after - plus the clean tone is decent too.

I'll also look into the STK-S9 too.
