Re: Little Red Rocker with pics

Best neck i have ever felt

awesome

just dont know if i can get used to the tons of midrange and airiness of the mahogany

Re: Little Red Rocker with pics

Those guitars are also good for turning bath salts into dirt. According to Nigel Tufnel.

Re: Little Red Rocker with pics

That's a gorgeous neck you got man!!
How much do you pay for it?
Anyway, congrats and happy NGD bro, play it in good health! :)

Re: Little Red Rocker with pics

Try brighter strings that will counter the tone of the body. Pure Blues, Hi Beam DR are good but anything with a high nickle count will do it. More drastic would be to go for a steel block (if you can swap the block on that bridge some MM ones you can't.) But mostly you can counter the darkness with strings.

Re: Little Red Rocker with pics

It's actually kinda bright as a guitar
just the strings don't have that much 'bounce' or rubbery feeling that I like more

maybe depth is a good way to put it?
Does that make sense?
I love the neck though

Re: Little Red Rocker with pics

Did you change the strings? It might be that they are not so good if they are the bulk buy sets stores use. Backing of the tone might help but I guess you tried that. Try dropping down half a step.

Re: Little Red Rocker with pics

That's a smokin' red man, love the neck as well.

Y' know I actually like the tones of Mahogany a lot, it's just that you'll need to re-acquaint yourself with many pickups you thought you knew.
Most (all?) pickups have a very different behavior and characteristics when they're in an all-mahogany body than in an alder one or a combo (mahogany+maple top or sth like it).

Re: Little Red Rocker with pics

I'm always talking acoustically guys so it has nothing to do with pickups and amps

I'm gonna change the strings though
what kinda turned me off is that at the store they had the trem flush to the body but when I set it to float the strings lost alot of snappiness
I have played guitars that lose almost no snappiness when the trem floats

It's all good

Re: Little Red Rocker with pics

i keep coming into this thread to look at this thing... SO DAMN COOL. seriously, this is one of my favorite guitars that i've seen in a long long time. that neck is keeping me up at night :D makes me think my warmoth project needs an all rosewood neck rather than the all maple i was thinking of getting...
