Little trouble with CR120H

So I recently bought a used Orange CR120H to use as a backup amp and a smaller at-home playing amp. It works fantastic and sounds great, but... Just today I was experimenting with running pedals through the effects loop. I usually use my delay pedal as the last pedal in my chain and not through the loop. (I have a TC Electronic echobrain and MXR Carbon copy). I tried them through the loop today and got this problem:

When the pedal is off, no problems at all
When the pedal is on, the amp makes sound, but it is really loose and distant, almost like the amp is under a blanket or in another room, muffled almost.
I have the same problem with both pedals
The peals work fine in the effects chain in front of the amp, so it is not the pedals fault, tried it with all different types of cables, the same problem. Both pedals are true bypass and analogue. I dunno what to do, Help!

Does the effects loop have a level control?

I agree with demanic, it’s very possible the loop level isn’t optimized for a -10db pedal.

Re: Little trouble with CR120H

No, there is not a level control, and there is no info on line about it being buffered or not

Re: Little trouble with CR120H

Your best bet then, is to just run it through the front.

I guess so, it is not that big of a problem, just annoying. They work fine with my rockerverb (my main amp) so i can live with it i gues. Thanks for the help, you guys rock!

I know what you mean. I've come to the point of trying to get what sounds good, even if I have to use methods that I once considered inelegant.

Re: Little trouble with CR120H

Has nothing to do with it being buffered, more so what the pad level is set to. If it’s anything like the rockerverbs unfortunately the mv also sets the loop level, the loop send while buffered also has an unusually high output z. Not the most carefully designed.
