Well, I've never really liked (see: hate) the Lo-TRS II trem on my S470. Now a lot of the allen wrench holes are stripped, and I don't feel like putting any money into this crappy trem. This left me trying to find out what floating tremolos will actually fit in my guitar. The first thing I looked for was if I could replace it with an Ibanez Edge. I found out that I cannot do this because the Edge is too big and I would have to route the body. Then I read that I can replace it with an Original Floyd Rose because that will fit. Should I just go with the OFR, or is there another trem with the same dimensions that might work or feel better?

The OFR is a 'direct' swap, or pretty much as direct as it gets for the Lo-TRS, imho. Its also, imho, the BEST replacement, to me, it feels, sounds, and works better than all the other floyds out there, including the Edge systems. Done the trem swap in my RG470, and it plays a LOT better.
There are 2 things about swapping an OFR into a Lo-TRS routed guitar that should be considered;
a) The OFR has assymetrical wings on the trem; therefore, on the bass side of the trem rout, there will be more rout showing than the treble side.
b) A trem post swap is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL. The original studs are simply too small in diameter to work well with any other trem; the small diameter causes the knife edges to be worn away a LOT quicker. Its a simple process to swap trem posts really, pull the old ones, redrill larger holes on a drill press for the new ones, and you're pretty much done.
