Lookie what I bought today...

So after much consideration and consternation I took the plunge today

I had bought a Line6 Flextone III 2x12 for practice with a friend of mine that I've been jamming with for years. I got tired of hauling my half stack back and forth so I bought the line6 combo for easy portability. Given the perfectionist that I am I couldn't stand what was lacking from a solid state amp even though as far as SS amps go it is pretty amazing. For about $100 more I managed to pick up another 4x12. It's probably an over expenditure in many eyes but I spent more time effin with my sound than I did playing most times.

I bought the Mesa Standard straight cab. I never though I'd own a full stack. My ears are still ringing. Tomorrow I'll deliver the cab to my friends house so on days we jam all I'll need is my guitar and the head.

Did you already have the Mesa or did you just buy a full stack?

Either way, that's some serious power! Dual or Triple? Watch those presence settings.

now that is some power!!!!! It's got to the point where a lot of big name acts are not using full stacks anymore..... but we still have a love for stacks don't we all!!!!

If it was up to me i'd have a wall full of stacked cabs in my house.... Hiwatt, Marshall, 5150, Boogie, and then some... not that i could really use that much power anymore.... it's useable guitar art for me....

Look to the right of the amp, it's already started peeling the paint off the walls!!!

No Sir. No pointy amps. This was as close as I could get.

I already had the Mesa. It's a Dual Recto. Someday I may upgrade to a Road-ster/king. But the Dual is all I need.

Even that's too much!!! I hate effects. A little chorus and or reverb on a clean channel and the occasionaly wah.

Quite. But it wasn't quite as dramatic as I thought it would be. Ultimately the second cab was just so I wouldn't have to lug a half stack with me everywhere.

I really have no need for the full stack other than being lazy and not wanting to drag a half stack with me everywhere but it was fun to rock out with a full stack for a few hours.

I'm down to patches of dry wall now. All the paint has melted off the walls and the walls have begun to crumble. I'm hoping to have a sunlight by morning.

Thanks guys. It was a lot of fun to jam with a full stack for a while and even more fun to snap the pic of the full stack.

The straight cab was taken to my friends house and I can't hear anything now. Good weekend.
