What's a good humbucker choice for a baritone? I have a Squire Subsonic, bass wood (I think), rosewood fretboard and constructed neck through body. I think it's 27" scale. I tune it to A. The original pickup sounded so so, I switched to an Invader but I don't like this either. I usually play with a clean amp and use a fuzz box for distortion.
Not sure on the science of this, here's what I have been thinking about.
I figure the strings are heavier and probably generate more current in the coils. Maybe you'd want a pick up with a lower output?
The guitar puts out a lot more bass. I find my guitar gets a little flabby sounding. Need a pick up that handles the bass tones well.
I open to recommendations. I have not seen any pick ups made especially for baritone.
