Looking Audio Unit standalone player with midi PC/CC controls

I'm having real fun with the NaLex Crunchman Audio Unit plugin. I use it in Garageband with Pulse IR loader.

I'm looking for a simple standalone AU plugins player that I can control with my midi foot pedal (connected to my Axe IO One), like calling a preset on a multi effects.
  • Element: working but it's crashing once in a while and I have to build a Graph for every preset (or I don't understand other way of calling PC)
  • GigPerformer: too expensive for my needs
  • GarageBand: doesn't support midi PC
  • AULab: doesn't support midi PC
  • Amplitude/Tonex/Neural DSP/Tonocracy: don't support Audio Unit plugins
  • Protools/Logic/Reaper/DAW: too complex in this case
Help!!!!

Ok, I figured it out using Element.

So I only need one Graph which is composed of all the plugins I want to used. You can control using Global midi programs or have midi programs for each plugins, using channel and program change number. The Midi Set List plugin is used just in case my midi foot controller is not connected so I can recall PC manually.

The Crunchman is the first software plugin I really like with headphones.

Here's my Graph as a reference:

You are right- Gig Performer is expensive! I looked into it when building my midi guitar rig, and it would be perfect, but man, it is expensive. I can do what I want with analog gear, but it takes a lot of it, which adds weight and space.

Element is working for my needs (headphones practice) and it's free. The Crunchman plugin is also free (I would get a Friedman IR-X in a second if I can get that sound). If you're on a Mac, have a look at MainStage, it's like $30 and full of guitar/bass/drums/synths/voice plugins. I think Alex Lifeson used it during one of Rush World Tour.

I have a very small pedalboard (Atomic Firebox and TC Plethora X3) that is fitting in my front pocket gigbag that I'm using for jams and practices direct to FOH. Those two are giving the sound and the workflow that I want (separated amps vs effects) and it also works out of a usb battery so I don't need a laptop. My big tube amp and 4x12" stay home: big, heavy and (too) loud.
