Looking for a cool unique pedal I don't already have

Any of yall try any good pedals out of left field recently? I don't necessarily want weird for the sake of weird, but just something that does something less than common but does it very well.

Other suggestions could include a boutique pedal thats got unique styling / concepts.

I'm looking for something that'll put me in a new mindset playing wise.

Hmm... I was looking at the Zzombee and it's cool, but you're right it's expensive.

Also I see the Seafoam Trident is a pretty neat idea, essentially a three band eq distortion. Any of y'all try it?

Some, (probably most), will hate this suggestion, but the BBE Sonic Maximizer is kinda cool. If you can get the AcoustiMax version, you'll have a ton of tonal options and quite an array of input/output options. I use mine (AcoustiMax) almost exclusively with electric guitar, and love it.

Edit: Palladium is super cool too, albeit, a bit pricey.

What does a Sonic Maximizer even do and why do most people love or hate it? I've never fiddled around with one.

BBE will be the first to tell that it isn't an "effect." That it corrects for loudspeaker time and phase aberrations. IMHO, that's horse-pockey. It's absolutely an effect (affect?), in the same vein as the Aphex Aural Exciter. But, it's a very nice effect, although, it's very subtle, even when adjusted to max. I think that's why so many don't like it. It's not a night and day difference the way a distortion or chorus would be. Think of it as a bass and treble control that also inject a teensy bit of chorus into the signal. But its so subtle that it would be possible for you to not even notice it. I know that sounds weird, but I do still like it. I like subtle.

I have four of these things. A desktop version and two rack mount versions. The AcoustiMax preamp is the best simply because it offers so much more tone control. Along with the SonicMaximizer controls, it has a quasi-parametric 3-band tone controls, and then a parametric mid notch control. Lots of tone shaping in this thing without doing anything "over the top."

As you can see, I'm a fan. Sometimes.

All the EHX 9 series stuff that I've played has been pretty neat. I get a ton of mileage out of the HOG pedal, especially on bass but also for some guitar stuff. It's great for the big "organ bass" sound but you can get all kinds of cool sounds out of it.

It does look pretty cool, I really want to try one myself. A little pricey but it seems to be a good pedal. 3 types of reverb and octave up sustain features I'm thinking about pulling the trigger one day.

One of the neat things about it is that it definitely looks like a good way to bump some knobs off my board. I use to go for tweakability, but now I feel I'm going the other way.

Here's another idea. I've noticed recently that I've been using my delay pedal more as an octave down effect (Canyon Delay, very flexible box).

Are there any good effects that simply let me blend in one or two suboctaves to my signal? Not to emulate a bass or anything, but just to fill in the low end when I'm doing a guitar/drums/piano set.
