Unless you are going to adjust these two pickups to precisely the same distance from the strings, the exact output statistics for each design are irrelevant.

The SD appears to have a hotter wind, 16k versus 13k resistance, and SD has a bridge/neck set where as the DiMarzio seems to be for the bridge only, so on account of all that I'd go with SD for the hotter bridge and matched neck.

Again we should say 'resistance doesn't equal output'. If the Duncan is wound with 44 gauge wire and the Dimarzio with 43, then the Dimarzio will likely have more output.

13k versus 16k is not a tiny difference though. How much does resistance change when you step up or down 1 awg, all other things being equal?

I had a Duncan SM-2 in a Les Paul Deluxe and while it was "hot", it still didn't stand up to my favorite full sized humbucker (Duncan Distortion) like I had hoped it would......I also tried an SM-3 and Dimarzio DLX-90. Eventually I sold the guitar.........

I have tried both and the SD just sounds better, richer tone.

Higher resistance doesn’t tell the entire story.

Another thing I'm concern is SM-2 sound brighter than DP198? because my guitar is very bright already...
