Looking for a humbucker that is a bit hotter than the High Voltage...

I'm looking for a humbucker with medium output...
I currently have a Pearly Gates/ Custom Hybrid with an A2. I also have a High Voltage.

I need something in between.
The PG/C Hybrid is a bit too hot and the High Voltage doesn't have enough.

I am currently thinking the Slash 2.0 but there's not a lot out there comparing them to anything...
There's also similar thinking around the CS Brobucker...

Any opinions welcomed...

My Brobucker isn't much hotter than a Pearly Gates. It's in between a Seth and an A2P. The mid spike is in the upper mids making it chimy, rather than honk or the wide mid bump of an A2P. A Slash would be a good call. It's kind of it's own thing. It's a flat wall of punch, IME. Haven't tried the 2.0 but my understanding is it's even hotter, but not by much.

Do you mean hot as in volume or hot as in rolled off treble and big mids?

By hot I mean how hard it pushes the amp... regardless of where the volume is

SD Custom Shop got back to me and said the HV is a slightly degaussed magnet. They recommended the Slash 2.0 and the 78 as both have fully charged magnets...

Turned off the 78 from the comments about it being too bright...

Yeah, 78 is actually brighter than the description leads you to believe. That was my experience, anyway.

Have you tried an A3 magnet in your PG/C Hybrid? It might change the EQ a little, but should also give less output.

i do like a3 in hotter bridge pups to tame them. a custom with a3 is a fantastic bridge pup.

i think the slash 2.0 might be a winner here. also, i find the brobucker hotter than the pgb. i love em both. 78 is bright to my ear, it works really well into a cranked tube amp though
