Looking for P90 sized Humbuckers....

Looking for some P90 sized Humbuckers. Something with nice, warm cleans and gets aggressive when adding high gain for metal.

Itll be gret If it comes in black too!

I also would like it to look something like this: (just smooth, no pole pieces sticking out)

Rio Grande, Dimarzio and GFS all make P90 sized humbuckers. Although these have exposed poles.

I've checked all those...... GFS has mini Humbuckers with mounting rings that'll fit into P90 routes also..... Ill just have to paint those

i'm not personally a fan of EMG's. but the 60 normally sounds better for cleans than the others. it's traditionally used as a neck pickup. it's more trebly with lower output than the 81 or 85.

I'm not much of a fan either...... I just got rid of some EMG 81/85 last month. But the way they look is ideal for the look Im going for on a Tele I'm building.

just get a solid cover off ebay and have it powder coated or anodized.

but keep in mind, mini-humbuckers have a narrow field and naturally south thinner than humbuckers. i honestly think a hot P90 sounds better for metal than a mini-humbucker... and they are the reining kings of clean tone.

Were you able to get decent sounds out of the P60?

i actually was able to get decent tone from the P60 in the bridge position of a strat, but only with a lot of gain.

Hmmmmm....... Ok. I'll keep the P60 in mind. I'll PM you if I decide to get a P60. Hopefully you'll still have it if I do.

When we were doing specs on the Fugly Bucker, I suggested a P90 sized humbucker pickup.
