So it looks like my cover band will be getting back together after 6 months off. I'm realy excited about this and it's making me want to get a new amp for practice and gigging out. We're looking at playing at bars that hold about 100 people (anything bigger we can mike the amps)

Can you give me reviews on the Line 6 Flextone 3 XL. It reads that it is a 2x12 with 150 Watts.

Would this amp cover my needs? I play Strats , either on with a Hot Rails bridge or a Deluxe fat strat. Basically some rock and rock and a little heavier (Everclear, Weezer, Velvet Revolver, the Darkness). I also want to play some stuff that isn't all heavy... think the Beatles doing Strawberry Fields , Dear Prudence. I want to have something that can get me a handful of different tones that still sound sgood and is loud enough. I know that it won't sound as good as the amps it is emulating but if it get's me 85% there , I'm cool with that. Thanks.

I know plenty of guys using the Vetta combo, Flex III, even the Spider II for cover gigs and it covers it all real well from clean to mean. I use my Vetta and XT into Atomic Amps most of the time. I have a Flex III 1x12 for house use mostly.

in general i think they are cool amps. live i have seen lots of people play them, only a few people get good, punchy tone with em. they tend to disapear in the mix. keep the mids way up
