Looking For Threaded Direct Mount Pick Up Bushings

Hey guys. I am going to mod my Ibanez with something like this so that I can switch out pick ups easier without tearing up the wood or stripping the holes. I'm having a hard time finding these and I am probably just not calling them the right thing =D. The ones I want are similar to what is in this video, although I am open to other suggestions. Any ideas where I can get them? I'd like it to be at home depot or lowes or somewhere I can just drive to but I'll order them if I have to.

dual threaded brass inserts... coarse wood thread on the outside, fine machine thread on the inside... no idea where to get those. fastenal? id be surprised if home depot or lowes would have them. cool idea though, especially since im in the middle of rewiring a direct mount guitar

nice! what size did you need?

Re: Looking For Threaded Direct Mount Pick Up Bushings

I got mine from McMaster-Carr "18-8 Stainless Steel Flanged Screw-to-Expand inserts" 2-56 thread size. They say they are "for plastic" but they worked fine in my guitar. The screws that fit these are small enough to go through humbucker base plates holes without having to drill them out.

Thanks! How did you get these in? Some of the brass ones have threads that look like you can just screw them in.

ACE Hardware has threaded inserts in their parts bins.

That is a really cool idea. I wish some guitar companies mounted their pickups with bushings like that. Much more elegant than rings to me.

FU tone has a system they sell similar to the mini humbucker mounting bar.
It also comes with their pitch about it 'improving the tone' of your guitar..um..sure. LOL
But it's an elegant solution
