I have a DOD Envelope Filter FX25B I'd trade for the Echo Park.

I have been using it recently to get some really delicious tones like these:
John Mayer's "I Don't Trust Myself" live at the Nokia Theater 2007

I used to play in a Tower of Power cover band, where I used this pedal instead of my Vox 847 wah because once you dial it in, you can truly "control the wah with your picking hand"

The DOD FX25 Envelope Filter Pedal - a reincarnation of DOD's original envelope filter - goes a step further, adding a blend control for great response from both guitar and bass. Added touch-sensitive wah-wah expression. 2 other controls adjust the DOD FX25's sensitivity and range thresholds.

I'm looking at getting one of those low-watt pseudo-boutique amps in the near future, and nearly all of them do not have onboard reverbs, so I'm looking to get an outboard reverb.

Re: Looking to trade

Is that the filter he was using? Thats a great tone!

You know, I have no idea if that's the filter he was using to get that tone, I have a feeling it was not, as our man Mayer is known for having a taste for basically the most expensive tool for the job

edit: Looked it up and Mayer uses a Roger Linn AdrenaLinn for the filter on that song.

I can tell you that I have dialed in that tone with my Strat and a Marshall amp model on a VOX Valvetronix. I have been having a lot of fun with that recently, actually. I always thought of envelope filters as pretty much "auto-wah" but recently I have learned a whole new dimension --- with the sensitivity set low you can get that really sexy, growly rhythm tone.

Also, with leads or melodies (like the main melody after the real song gets going in that Mayer song) It allows me to get a very humanistic vocal quality to my melodies by simply adjusting my string attack. It's really enjoyable to play.
