Looper Question

I want to get a digitech jamman express xt, but how should i set it up so that i can get it to work with effects from my zoom ms-50G and my amp's distortion? Where in the signal chain should i place it?

Here's my setup:
Guitar -> Amp Input
Amp FX Send -> Zoom MS 50G -> Amp FX Return.

Should the looper be placed after the Zoom MS-50G?

Re: Looper Question

To use the amp's distortion...you'd have to put it in the effects loop. Or, mic your amp and put the looper in the aux send of a mixer to the PA.

Hahahaha, I'm 15 bro. I don't have a mic, a mixer or a PA. I only play at home, and when I play gigs, amps are usually there for me. Thanks anyway.

Re: Looper Question

Well much cheaper is getting a distortion pedal for before the looper. This way you can have the same distortion anywhere you play.

I'm only going to be using the looper at home for practice or when I'm writing. I play live with my band, so I won't need a looper then.

Re: Looper Question

It seems like you are using it for a rehearsal/writing tool, in which case I'd put it as late in the chain as possible. (in the loop, just before the return)

If you wanted to "effect" the output of the looper, you could place it earlier in the chain. (Record a phrase, then manipulate it with delay/filter/reverb/etc) but that is using the looper as more of a creative tool.
